4. Dairy
Dairy is fine for celiacs, but for those with
lactose intolerance, they need alternatives.
There are yogurts made with almond milk,
soy milk and lactid milk.
5. Oils
Oils are safe for celiacs, which is good news
because it means you can add flavor to your
foods. Some health benefits come from
coconut and olive oils.
As a Registered Dietitian and a mom of a son with Celiac, I want to educate on a healthy gluten free diet.

Day 1 Of 5 Popular Gluten Free Foods
Celiac disease is life changing in many ways.
The only treatment is a strict gluten free diet.
There are many foods that are gluten free
naturally, I will list over the next few days.
1. Potatoes
Potatoes have nothing to do with gluten. They
are completely safe to eat. It is always safe to
order a baked potatoe when eating out. Fries are
another story, usually the fries are fried with
gluten foods, making them unsafe to eat. Always
ask if fries are done in a separate fryer.

What is Celiac Disease?
Celiac disease is an auto immune disease in which
ingesting gluten damages the small intestines of the
person with celiac. Gluten is a protein found in wheat,
rye, and barley. It can also be in vitamins and medicines.
Celiac disease affects each person different. Symptoms
may occur in the digestive system, or other parts of
the body. In children most common is irritability and
digestive.
Celiac disease is genetic. Blood tests can help with
diagnosis, however an endoscopy is needed to confirm.
Only treatment is a strict gluten free diet.
